The Art of Healthy Living - The True Meaning of the Art of Healthy Living

The Art Of Healthy Living is a term that is thrown around very loosely. Most of the time people think it is a "cool" expression or they just need something catchy to put on their site but that's not what this phrase is about. The Art Of Healthy Living is just that an Art. People never talk about Healthy Living in terms of it being an art form. People see it as something they are obligated to do or something they do to impress people. Some people use Healthy Living as a crutch to prove how self righteous they can be. These are the types that always insist you are unhealthy unless you start eating and living like them. I will do my best to clear up misconceptions about Art and the way of Healthy Living.

What does Art mean to you? You probably had many things pop in your head just there. Before I tell you what art means to me I want you to first empty your cup of tea so that you may taste mine. This an old Zen expression that means to abandon all things you think you know so that you may learn once again. If you were in school and you constantly were trying to outsmart the teacher you would learn absolutely nothing more than you already knew. Your cup would remain full and your drink would go stale. This cup is your mind so before I tell you what art truly means you must first empty your mind of all things you think you know about art.

Art is not something created to be pretty, it is important you understand this concept for it is one of the most important. While a painting or a song can and will often times have much beauty it is not the reason they are created. A flower does not attempt to be beautiful and yet it is. Art is the path of freedom. When you are one with your art, you are free to express yourself. When you become a master of yourself you become a master of all things. Yet mastery is not something to be attained but rather a course or path to become one with. Art is a process and thus the path begins on The Art Of Healthy Living.

The Art Of Healthy Living is something that is deeply personal and cannot be taught. It is not something "learned" nor is their any system or method to follow. There is no specific diet or exercise routine you must follow to be an artist of healthy living. You must learn who you are in the universe and dissolve all ignorance, only then will The Art Of Healthy Living Fully reveal itself to you. Each day is a journey of self discovery. We find something new about ourselves everyday. Those who fail to see this fail to see the ever changing. They have tried to freeze the water of life so that it can no longer flow and all things in their existence become cold and stale.

At The Art Of Healthy Living we present many ways to live healthy from many different points of view. While some of these view points will be of no benefit to you, there will no doubt be another for whom there life was changed because of this view point. Certain ways of living healthy are useful to one and useless to another. When you practice The Art Of Healthy Living you become an artist and like any artist you have your own style of doing things. If you follow the paths of others entirely and do not learn to find the way yourself than you will be forever doomed to not know who you really are. Discover what a healthy life means to you, but take nothing to be an absolute for this is something that can be answered by you and you alone. It cannot be learned from another for they are a just a sign pointing down their path. Your paths may intertwine at some point but there will always be a fork in the road at some point where you must once again ask yourself what it means to live healthy. Some think they practice the Art of Healthy Living by following others path step for step but they don't see that these people they worship and follow had to find their own way. Though they may have followed others for a while they eventually went down a path all their own and found what works best for them.

Artists in all fields should understand what art means especially the practitioner of The Art Of Healthy Living. Learn to live healthy but do not force your methods or systems upon another. Instead present what works for you, giving the pupil a choice. At our site we prevent knowledge that was useful to one which will no doubt be useful to another. We take suggestions from our visitors and we present their ways of living healthy even if it seems foreign to us. Some art is more abstract than others but is still art none the less.

The Art Of Healthy Living is based on the creativity of the individual. This way the individual creates the healthiest lifestyle for him/herself, instead of a healthy lifestyle that suits someone else best but is difficult for you to maintain. Don't feel obligated to live in extremes and excesses. Don't resort to diets and systems that are so strict and rigid that they leave you questioning The Art Of Healthy Living. Nor should you be so undisciplined as to completely deny every facet of Healthy Living. You should find your middle ground and become The Artist Of Healthy Living that you were born to be.

Roses don't bloom from Sunflower Seeds, yet both are beautiful creations when there is no comparison. Discover your roots and reveal the beauty of your blossoming.

My Sister is Dead Because of Chemo - Brain Cancer Takes Another One

Patty Hisle died on June 8th, 1997 from brain cancer just like our father did. Patty's cancer was much more aggressive and in the front of the brain unlike dad's brain cancer that was located in the back of the brain.

Daddy lived for 8 years and through many operations and suffering. Daddy cried often and dad never ever cried, but we later discovered it was the drugs they had him on. They tortured dad with all their pharmaceutical drugs and all their chemotherapy. He promised God to be better and that he would make up for everything bad he did in his life too. So dad set out on a trip to visit his children and tell them he loved them.

Daddy tried and he believed with all his might but in the end after all the chemo was done and after they had reduced him to nothing, they discovered two spots on his lungs. One on each. If he had two spots on one lung he could of lived but both lungs were infected now and so we chose to let him go. It was awful how he lived and worst how he died. Dad's cancer was originally hodgkins disease and spread to the lungs and brain.

Patty always felt unloved by everyone and when she saw how dad suffered, she swore to God that she wanted to die with him. She asked God to give her brain cancer so she could go be with dad and God granted her wish.

Patty was strong and she was alone. Today is her birthday, July 1st, so we want to honor her courage. She was very brave and she never cried. She often called me and would apologize that she was not stronger. Her husband left her, her children abandoned her and she did everything herself.

When the doctors told her that her only chance was chemo, Patty agreed as she wanted to live and take care of her two small children. She believed the doctors could heal her. She became so sick that she could no longer take care of her children or herself and we sent her home to her children in her home state.

They abused her and did not understand that people with brain cancer are angry and yes they are violent at times. She had given up on her recovery and simply waiting for death she ate ice cream daily. Her daughter in law attacked her in the kitchen and refused to let Patty to cook any food as Patty was not able to clean up after herself. She was an invalid and no one to help.

One day there was a confrontation and they had Patty dragged off by the police and locked in a cell. Patty's ex-husband had her released and taken to a county hospital. The pain was so bad that Patty could not think and she acted incredibly insane at times but she was sick and she hurt, but Patty did not cry.

The doctors gave Patty 6 months to live, but Patty was so upset being in a hospital with no one around and no help, that she gave up. She quit eating and 3 days later she died alone in a cold hospital room with no one there.

It is amazing to me to this day how family members can abandon love ones who are sick. I was in another state and did not know what my sister was going through. She was given no phone to call anyone for help. She was dragged to the police in handcuffs and she was denied the common decency of love.

People with brain cancer are sick and it is an awful way to die. Back then I never knew about brain cancer remedies such as the Budwig Flax Seed Diet or the Gerson Juice Cancer diet. I only knew what she knew.

My question comes today that my family could of been saved. 15 people in my family have died from some sort of cancer and all of them chose chemo. I hope that you are smart and don't choose chemo to treat your cancer. I hope that you are not like Patrick Swayze who refused help other than chemo and I hope you will remember my sister on this day as I have.

Black Cumin May (Does) Treat Pancreatic Cancer and More

I had to chuckle when I saw today's edition of the Huffington Post showing that black cumin "MAY" treat pancreatic cancer and then quoting a study done at Thomas Jefferson University by Dr. Hwyda A. Arafat, MD, PhD, associate professor, departments of surgery and pathology, anatomy and cell biology. This study was done in 2007 and it is just now intriguing them. Is this not a give me a break moment.

There have been literally hundreds of papers written on the positive results done in this study and how miraculous this wonderful little black seed is. It was literally able to reduce the pancreatic tumors when no other medical treatment has been successful.

This little black seed has been used for thousands of years for everything from headaches to asthma and it is just now intriguing the Huffington Post? Excuse my ignorance but it should of intrigued the Huffington Post in 2007. As I pause for a moment to smile at the article, I again noticed that the author offered no hint of how to treat the cancers, only that it "May" help.

What is the point of reporting that a potential miracle herb has been created and then never give the way to treat the cancer. Black cumin is also called Nigella Sativa and kalonji. You can get it in several ways and finding a good source is pretty easy. Here are some links:

Black Cumin oil and seeds

The proper way to treat cancer is with a teaspoon of oil mixed with raw honey or juice 3 times a day. In addition the remedy calls for eating 4 cloves of garlic once a day.

It should be noted that in order for black cumin to work, you need to take it regularly, not just when you are sick. For further information on these wonderful seeds read here.

So if we smile a little today about the Huffington Post just now discovering the healing benefits of black cumin, let us all reflect as to the correct place to look for health news. That place is right here with Barbi Trejo's world.

New Potential Cause of Alzheimer's Disease

THURSDAY, June 10 (HealthDay News) -- Researchers have discovered that the mutation of a gene associated with early onset Alzheimer's may block a key recycling process necessary for brain cell survival -- a finding that points the way to possible treatment for the disease.

When it's working properly, this gene -- called presenilin 1 (PS1) -- performs a crucial house-cleaning service by helping brain cells digest unwanted, damaged and potentially toxic proteins. But in its mutated form, the gene fails to help cells recycle these potential toxins, suggesting an explanation for the damage to the brain characteristic of Alzheimer's disease.

"We believe we have identified the principal mechanism by which mutations of PS1 cause the most common genetic form of Alzheimer's disease," study co-author Dr. Ralph A. Nixon, professor in the departments of psychiatry and cell biology as well as director of NYU's Center of Excellence on Brain Aging and the Silberstein Alzheimer's Institute, said in a university news release.

"Presently, no effective treatment exists to either slow or prevent the progression of Alzheimer's disease," added Nixon, also director of the Center for Dementia Research at the Nathan S. Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research in New York City. "This discovery has the potential of identifying such a treatment."

Mutations of the PS1 gene have previously been thought to increase production of the toxic beta amyloid protein that appears to collect in the brains of Alzheimer's patients. In turn, scientists have theorized that by preventing amyloid deposits from accumulating, they might be able to slow or prevent Alzheimer's progression.

However, the current investigation into PS1 behavior side-steps this potential scenario -- without questioning its validity -- by focusing on the possibility that abnormal PS1 function may cause cell death unconnected to beta amyloid buildup. PS1 mutations and other factors could, therefore, promote Alzheimer's in entirely different ways, the team said.

"There is an urgent need now to see Alzheimer's disease as [caused by multiple factors] and approach the treatment from that perspective," said Nixon, who added that the current finding opens up a new target for Alzheimer's interventions down the road. Focusing on how to restore brain cells' normal recycling system is a promising therapeutic approach, he said, since its disruption appears to promote Alzheimer's.

Nixon and his colleagues report their findings in the June 10th online issue of the journal Cell.

Green tea for your belly

Green tea for your belly
Belly fat is not just unbecoming, it is dangerous to your long term, health and well being. When excessive fat is stored inside your abdominal cavity it has devastating metabolic consequences.

This intra abdominal adipose tissue continually dumps fatty acids into the bloodstream poisoning your muscles so they become unresponsive to the normal action of insulin.

That means your insulin, sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure levels go up, predisposing you to high blood pressure diabetes heart disease and even some forms of cancer.

Finding a way selectively burn this toxic belly fat has been the holy grail of scientists and dieters alike, but to has proved to be an elusive goal.

Evolving evidence points to green tea and its components like theanine and catechins as at least part of the answer to this problem.

You will need to drink about three to four cups of either caffeinated or decaffeinated green tea per day to see the full benefits including weight loss, increased metabolism and a shrinking waistline.

Beware: Twitter is No Longer for Ads

Twitter’s New Ad Policy And The Dangers Of Tying Your Business To Another Ross | May 25th, 2010

Yesterday, Twitter’s COO Dick Costolo, in an effort to provide more clarity to Twitter’s developer ecosystem, discussed upcoming changes to Twitter’s terms of service and some of the principles that guided Twitter’s recent decisions. Here’s what Costolo wrote in his post:

As our primary concern is the long-term health and value of the network, we have and will continue to forgo near-term revenue opportunities in the service of carefully metering the impact of Promoted Tweets on the user experience. It is critical that the core experience of real-time introductions and information is protected for the user and with an eye toward long-term success for all advertisers, users and the Twitter ecosystem. For this reason, aside from Promoted Tweets, we will not allow any third party to inject paid tweets into a timeline on any service that leverages the Twitter API. We are updating our Terms of Service to articulate clearly what we mean by this statement, and we encourage you to read the updated API Terms of Service to be released shortly.

Shortly after Costolo’s post, Twitter’s API terms of service were indeed updated. Although debates will ensue about the specificity and clarity of those terms of service, I suspect that any ambiguity in the language is intentional – to give Twitter some wiggle room (for those who don’t know – I spent 13 years before crowdSPRING as an attorney representing companies on Intellectual Property issues).

Here’s what the amended terms say about in-stream ads on Twitter (Section IV, 1):

1. Twitter Ads. Twitter reserves the right to serve advertising via its APIs (“Twitter Ads“). If you decide to serve Twitter Ads once we start delivering them, we will share a portion of advertising revenue with you per our then-current terms and conditions.

There’s also this in the next section (Section IV, b and c):

(b) You may generally advertise around and on applications or sites that display Tweets, but you may not place any advertisements within the Twitter timeline on your Service other than Twitter Ads.

(c) Your advertisements cannot resemble or reasonably be confused by users as a Tweet.

That’s it. According to the amended terms, the only permissible in-stream ads are Twitter Ads (which are served by – and sold by – Twitter itself). Period.

Those of you who read my personal blog might recall that I wrote about this issue back in November 2009 – Social Media Insiders Fiddle While Twitter Burns. I am not a fan of in-stream advertising – here’s what I wrote then:

In-stream ads are already out there. Some people are already making large sums of purportedly easy money by promoting products and services they know little or nothing about. I’m not so worried about their credibility – their followers will decide whether or not they should continue listening.

I am worried about Twitter’s credibility. It’s on the line.

Twitter’s move yesterday to amend its API terms of service excluding third party in-stream ads not originating directly from Twitter is only partially satisfying, because Twitter intends to do what it seems to be prohibiting other companies from doing (which is its right).

But Twitter has made changes that have a far greater impact than merely on in-stream ads. There’s additional language that will impact sites that incorporate twitter content into pages (such as the Huffington Post and many other news sites). Here’s Section IV, 2 from Twitter’s amended terms of service:

2. Advertising Around Twitter Content

(a) We encourage you to create advertising opportunities around Twitter content that are compliant with these Rules. In cases where Twitter content is the basis (in whole or in part) of the advertising sale, we require you to compensate us (recoupable against any fees payable to Twitter for data licensing). For example, you may sell sponsorships or branding around gadgets or iframes that include Tweets and other customized visualizations of Twitter. Please contact us for questions and information at twitter_ads@twitter.com, or to notify us of an advertising opportunity.

(b) You may generally advertise around and on applications or sites that display Tweets, but you may not place any advertisements within the Twitter timeline on your Service other than Twitter Ads.

(c) Your advertisements cannot resemble or reasonably be confused by users as a Tweet.

(d) You may advertise in close proximity to the Twitter timeline (e.g., banner ads above or below timeline), but there must be a clear separation between Twitter content and your advertisements.

These changes will seriously impact ad networks like Sponsored Tweets and Ad.ly, who sell and insert advertisements directly into a user’s Twitter timeline.

For those interested in reading the complete (amended) API terms of service, you can find them here. Danny Sullivan also has a detailed post about this subject with some additional info from Twitter.

Twitter’s move shouldn’t surprise anyone. Last month, in reaction to announcements by Twitter (when Twitter acquired Tweetie) and Apple (concerning flash on the iPhone and iPad), I recorded a short video talking about the dangers of tying your business to another company. Twitter’s and Apple’s actions have significantly impacted each company’s developer network.

For those of you unaware of the Tweetie acquisition – Twitter decided in April to acquire the company that makes and sells Tweetie, a popular iPhone client. Prior to this acquisition, Twitter didn’t have its own iPhone application. In part, this was because a healthy and broad third party ecosystem of Twitter apps was developing around Twitter (most of the third party developers, like Twitter, had no revenue model). Twitter’s decision caused many in the Twitter developer ecosystem to wonder about their future and whether Twitter’s continued search for a revenue model would put more Twitter-dependent companies out of business.

Twitter’s move yesterday to amend its API terms of service suggests that Twitter’s developer ecosystem had good reasons to be worried. Twitter’s acquisition of Tweetie (and the reaction from Twitter’s developer community) and now the amended API terms of service that prohibit in-stream advertising other than the advertising sold by Twitter itself, highlights something that’s always been a risk: tying your business to that of another company. Here’s why:

Most Older People Have Damaged Kidneys - Dr. Cinque

Most older people have damaged kidneys

Mayo Clinic researchers have found that the kidneys of healthy adults show signs of chronic mild injury that increase with age. This damage is present even though the adults showed no clinical signs of kidney disease. The findings are reported in the current issue of the, Annals of Internal Medicine.

"This was a surprise," says Andrew Rule, M.D., M.Sc., a Mayo Clinic nephrologist and epidemiologist who led the study. "These patients' kidneys are functioning normally, and this damage doesn't show up on the tests doctors routinely use to assess kidney health. It means we need to come up with new tests to detect mild kidney injury more accurately."

The medical records of 1,203 people who donated kidneys at Mayo Clinic from 1999 to 2009 were used for the cross-sectional study. The donor kidneys were examined with a needle biopsy once they were transplanted into the recipient as part of a routine procedure to gather baseline information about the new kidney.

The researchers looked at four signs of nephrosclerosis, or chronic kidney injury: glomerulosclerosis (scarring of the kidney's filtration units), tubular atrophy (loss of the tubes that process urine), interstitial fibrosis (general scarring of the kidney tissue), and arteriosclerosis (narrowing of tiny blood vessels).

Researchers discovered that the percentage of donors with nephrosclerosis ranged from 2.7 percent for men and women ages 18 -- 29 years to 73 percent for those ages 70 -- 77 years. The greater damage with older age was not explained by differences in kidney function or risk factors for kidney disease.

"Even though there are signs of damage, the kidneys were functioning within normal parameters," says Dr. Rule. "These findings do not mean that older people shouldn't donate kidneys. As far as we know, this mild kidney injury is an inevitable consequence of aging. Instead, we need an age-specific cut point for kidney function to identify early kidney disease. Right now, doctors use the same cut point for a 20-year-old as for a 70-year-old. This does not take into consideration the normal decline in kidney function that comes with aging. With older age there may be decreased demand for kidney function since the changes in kidney function do not reflect kidney injury on biopsy."

Dr. Rule is working with an international team to develop a new test for nephrosclerosis. He says that people can lessen damage to their kidneys by preventing and treating diabetes and controlling their blood pressure. "Even when kidney function tests are normal, people with high blood pressure have kidneys that look eight years older on biopsy than the kidneys of people with normal blood pressure," Dr. Rule says.

Dr. Cinque's comments: This tells me that the kidneys are endowed with a tremendous reserve capacity, but then again, we already knew that. A young football player can get clipped and lose a kidney to the surgeon's knife, and even though his kidney function is cut in half instantly, his life and his functioning continue quite normally and with no restrictions. Obviously then, you have to lose more than 50 percent of your kidney function before you begin to suffer in any noticable way. What a blessing that we were given so much surplus capacity. But once damaged, the kidneys cannot repair themselves, which is why we need to take care of them and prevent damage. I know of no dietary supplements that are of any help in preserving the kidneys. I certainly don't take any for that purpose. You can only help your kidneys indirectly- by not hurting them, which means: do not overindulge in salt or protein, and avoid alcohol and drugs. And that includes diuretics, which are not good for your kidneys.

The Miraculous Cures of Apple Cider Vinegar

From: Barefooter's Library

There have been many lofty claims about the miraculous healing powers of apple cider vinegar, and many people do seem to be experiencing some health benefits. However, much of what you read about this product on the Internet is overstated, or simply unfounded.

Some proponents of apple cider vinegar claim it can cure everything from diabetes to acid reflux, to warts, cancer, arthritis, athlete’s foot, halitosis, high cholesterol, gout, poison oak, urinary tract infections, and even head lice!

Oh -- and yes, it can help you with your Easter egg dying as well.

With the surging interest in alternative medicine, you can now even get apple cider vinegar in pill form.

Dramatic claims aside, let’s examine what is really known about vinegar, based on the scientific studies to date.

Latest Research Findings on Vinegar and Diabetes

There has been surprisingly little research about using vinegar for therapeutic health purposes, given the large number of dramatic claims about it. However, lack of scientific studies is a common problem for many natural and alternative therapies.

Perhaps the most researched and the most promising of apple cider vinegar’s benefits are in the area of type 2 diabetes. Several studies have found that vinegar may help lower blood glucose

In 2004, a study cited in the American Diabetes Foundation’s publication Diabetes Care[i] found that taking vinegar before meals significantly increased insulin sensitivity and dramatically reduced the insulin and glucose spikes that occur after meals. The study involved 29 people, divided into three groups:

1. One third had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
2. One third had prediabetic signs.
3. One third were healthy.

The results were quite significant:

~All three groups had better blood glucose readings with the vinegar than with the placebo.
~People with prediabetic symptoms benefitted the most from the vinegar, cutting their blood glucose
concentrations by nearly half.
~People with diabetes improved their blood glucose levels by 25 percent with vinegar.
~People with prediabetic symptoms had lower blood glucose than the healthy participants after both drank vinegar.

A follow-up study geared at testing vinegar’s long-term effects yielded an unexpected but pleasant side effect: moderate weight loss. In this study, participants taking two tablespoons of vinegar prior to two meals per day lost an average of two pounds over the four-week period, and some lost up to four pounds.

In 2007, another study cited by WebMD involving 11 people with type 2 diabetes found taking two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar before bed lowered glucose levels in the morning by 4 to 6 percent.

Although the research to date looks favorable, more studies are needed to confirm the extent of vinegar’s insulin stabilization benefits.

Vinegar and Blood Pressure

There is far less research exploring vinegar and heart health.

In 2006, one study showed that vinegar could lower cholesterol in laboratory rats[ii]. Another study on rats[iii] found their blood pressure could be lowered by the acetic acid in vinegar.

However, these results do not necessarily apply to people; therefore, we really need some research on humans before conclusions can be drawn.

Possible Cancer Combatant

There is some positive preliminary research suggesting apple cider vinegar can help prevent cancer. A few laboratory studies have found that vinegar may be able to kill cancer cells or slow their growth. However, epidemiological studies of people have yielded confusing results.

One study found that taking vinegar was associated with a decreased risk of esophageal cancer. Another associated it with an increased risk for bladder cancer. Clearly, the jury is still out on cancer prevention.

An Apple a Day

remain, even after the apples are fermented. They contend that vinegar is rich in minerals, vitamins (including potassium, calcium, and beta-carotene), complex carbohydrates and fiber, pectin, amino acids, and beneficial enzymes.

The problem is, when standard nutritional analyses of apple cider vinegar are done, it is found to be a poor source of most of these nutrients. For example, the one milligram of calcium found in a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar does not come close to the 1,000 milligrams a typical adult needs each day.

It has been claimed that soluble fiber in the vinegar, in the form of pectin, binds to cholesterol and helps carry it out of your body, thereby improving your lipid profile. However, apple cider vinegar contains no measurable pectin or any other fiber, for that matter.

Perhaps apple cider’s magic may come from the vitamins it contains?

Wrong again.

According to the USDA, apple cider vinegar has no measurable vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin E, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, beta-carotene, or folate -- and it’s equally lacking in amino acids, lycopene, or any other nutritional elements.

Then, is this stuff just good for cleaning windows and dying eggs?

Hardly.

Even though it is devoid of many of the traditionally valued nutrients, evidence of apple cider vinegar’s health benefits has been witnessed for hundreds -- maybe thousands -- of years[iv].

So, what can explain this mysteriously beneficial elixir?

It could be partially related to the fact that vinegar is a diluted acid, specifically acetic acid, which is responsible for its sour taste and pungent smell. The pH changes it induces may contribute to some of its actions.

Some of the dramatic benefits may also be derived from yet-to-be-identified phytochemicals (beneficial compounds in plants) that scientists are now discovering in a number of different foods. In fact, many of your strongest weapons against cancer are the phytochemicals found in fruits and vegetables

The more we know, the more we realize we don’t know.

One thing that apple cider vinegar is high in is acetic acid. Like other acids, acetic acid can increase your body’s absorption of important minerals from the foods you eat. Therefore, it is possible that drinking a mild tonic of vinegar and water just before meals might improve your body’s ability to absorb the essential minerals locked in foods. Apple cider vinegar might help you get more out of your leafy greens!

How can apple cider vinegar help regulate your insulin?

One theory is that it might activate some of the digestive enzymes that break down carbohydrates into sugar, thus slowing absorption of sugar from a meal into your bloodstream. This gives your body more time to pull sugar out of your blood, preventing your sugar levels from spiking.

The Gnarlier, the Better

When purchasing an apple cider vinegar, you’ll want to avoid the perfectly clear, “sparkling clean” varieties you commonly see on grocery store shelves. Instead, you want organic, unfiltered, unprocessed apple cider vinegar, which is murky and brown.

When you try to look through it, you will notice a cobweb-like substance floating in it. This is known as “mother,” and it indicates your vinegar is of good quality.

The reason manufacturers distil vinegar is to remove this rather schmurky looking stuff that most folks won’t buy. But in this case, it’s the murky looking stuff you want. As with everything else, the more processed a food is, the less nutritious, and this holds true for apple cider vinegar.

The first vinegar was the result of an ancient accident.

Long ago, someone stored a keg of wine too long (presumeably a poorly sealed one that allowed oxygen in). When the eager drinkers opened it, they found a sour liquid instead of wine. The name “vinegar” comes from the French words for “sour wine.”

How Should Apple Cider Vinegar be Used?

There are no official guidelines about taking vinegar internally. Some people take one to two teaspoons a day, mixed in a glass of water or juice, before meals or in the morning, and report benefits from doing so. The risk of taking small amounts of apple cider vinegar seems low.

Apple cider vinegar makes a delightful salad dressing. You can even make a vinegar-based coleslaw, rather than the usual creamy mayonnaise-based one. It is good on fish as well and serves as a great tenderizing marinade for meat, giving it a bit of zing. And it’s tasty drizzled over cooked greens.

If you are considering taking it medicinally, there are some things to keep in mind[v]:

~Apple cider vinegar is highly acidic. The main ingredient is acetic acid, which is quite harsh. You should always
dilute it with water or juice before swallowing. Pure, straight apple cider vinegar could damage your tooth
enamel or the tissues of your mouth and throat. (There is, in fact, one reported incident of long-term
esophageal damage to a woman who got an apple cider vinegar supplement capsule stuck in her throat.)
~Long-term excessive use could conceivably cause low potassium levels and lower bone density.
~Apple cider vinegar could theoretically interact with diuretics, laxatives, and medicines for diabetes and heart
disease.,br>
If you are under the care of a physician and you want to try a course of apple cider vinegar, talk to your doctor first to make sure it won’t interfere with any of the medications you are presently on.

Apple Cider Vinegar -- It’s Not Just a Breakfast Drink

Vinegar is one of the best natural agents for removing certain pesticides and bacteria from your fresh produce. Of course, you don’t need apple cider vinegar for this -- any basic white vinegar will do, and for a fraction of the price.

Gayle Povis Alleman, MS, RD recommends a solution of 10 percent vinegar to 90 percent water as a bath to briefly soak produce. Just place your veggeis or fruit in the solution, swish it around, and rinse thoroughly.

Don’t use this process on fragile fruits (like berries), since they could be damaged in the process or soak up too much vinegar through their porous skins.

~Apple cider vinegar has long been used as a natural hair care product. Its acidity is close to that of human hair;
it’s a good conditioner and cleaning agent, as well as an effective germ killer. You can visit
http://www.apple-cider-vinegar-benefits.com for information on how to make a vinegar hair rinse.
~Vinegar also has some applications for pets, including cleaning ears, relief of certain skin problems, and
combating fleas and ticks[vi].
~Some horse owners claim apple cider vinegar is an excellent natural horse fly spray and horse hoof care
product.
~Vinegar is a great, all around cleaning agent for everything from countertops to windows.

Obviously, we need a great deal more research to investigate vinegar’s full healing potential. While it is not likely an all-encompassing miracle cure, it can certainly be useful in a variety of ways, for a variety of conditions. It’s one more multi-purpose tool to have in your natural pantry.

And if you are really ambitious and adventuresome, you might want to try your hand at making apple cider vinegar from scratch. Detailed instructions can be found at http://www.apple-cider-vinegar-benefits.com.

Again let me remind you that this document is NOT intended to be a comprehensive or exhaustive analysis of apple cider vinegar. However you can help create to the current understanding of this topic by adding your comments to the page.

Caloric restriction boosts immunity

Written by Dr. Cinque
1 to 1 Vitamins

Scientists funded by the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) found that volunteers who followed a low-calorie diet or a very low-calorie diet not only lost weight, but also significantly enhanced their immune response. The study may be the first to demonstrate the interaction between caloric restriction and immune markers among humans.

The lead researcher, Simin Nikbin Meydani, is director of the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging (HNRCA) at Tufts University in Boston, Mass., and also of the HNRCA's Nutritional Immunology Laboratory.

The study is part of the "Comprehensive Assessment of Long-Term Effects of Reducing Intake of Energy" trial conducted at the HNRCA. As people age, their immune response generally declines. Calorie restriction has been shown to boost these immune responses in animal models.

In the study, 46 overweight (but not obese) men and women aged 20 to 40 years were required to consume either a 30-percent or 10-percent calorie-restricted diet for six months. Prior to being randomly assigned to one of the two groups, each volunteer participated in an initial 6-week period during which measures of all baseline study outcomes were obtained. All food was provided to participants.

For the study, the researchers looked at specific biologic markers. A skin test used called DTH (delayed-type hypersensitivity) is a measure of immune response at the whole body level. The researchers also examined effects of calorie restriction on function of T-cells--a major type of white blood cell--and other factors on the volunteer's immune system.

DTH and T-cell response indicate the strength of cell-mediated immunity. One positive was that DTH and T-cell proliferative response were significantly increased in both calorie-restrained groups. These results show for the first time that short-term calorie restriction for six months in humans improves the function of T-cells.

Details of this 2009 study can be found in the publication Journal of Gerontology, Biological Sciences. ARS is the U.S. Department of Agriculture's principal intramural scientific research agency.

Dr. Cinque's comments: I have seen visual evidence of this. In 1989, I worked at Dr. Alec Burton's clinic on the outskirts of Sydney, Australia, and there he performed live cell analysis with dark field microscopy. Among the patients who were fasting (which is the ultimate form of caloric restriction) there was a noticable enhancement in the activity of the leukocytes (the white blood cells). It's as though those lobulated cells were unleashed, unburdened, and infused with life as they streamed around the slide with great vigor. It really was quite a sight which I will never forget. It's not easy to restrict one's calories, but sometimes we can catch ourselves stuffing in more food than we need. For instance, does anyone really need to eat dessert? What, are we like children who have to be rewarded for eating their vegetables? Just think about the enormous benefits of calorie restriction, and it may help you to just say no to more food when others are clearly pigging out.

7 Steps to Get Rid of Body Fat

Written by Plzchuckle, Barefooter's Library

Americans have lived through many health crises in the past but the latest threat, though largely preventable, has silently grown to potentially deadly proportions. America is in the grips of an "acidic obesity epidemic," and 65 percent of the population is over-acid and thus over-weight.

Even those who may not consider themselves over-acid and over-weight may be carrying a large amount of acidic deadly belly fat, known to increase the risk of heart disease in relatively slim, fit and alkaline people.

Most people have a basic sense that being over-acid and then over-weight is bad for their health, but few appreciate just how dangerous being over-acid is.

My book, The pH Miracle for Weight Loss talks about controlling and buffering excess acidity leading to the body retaining fat as a protection is really simple to reverse: Eat for health, not for pleasure. This is not to say that a healthy alkaline diet has to taste bad. But it is critical to keep in mind that the goal is a diet that provides health and fitness. The loss of excess acid fat will always come when you follow a healthy alkaline diet.

Below are my seven steps for losing excess acidic fat bound weight permanently! For a detailed discussion on how to lose acidic fat bound weight read, "The pH Miracle for Weight Loss" by Dr. Robert and Shelley Young.

1. Eat lots of alkaline vegetables and fruits. Also, eat a mixture of fresh organically grown vegetables and fruits, which should all be cleansed thoroughly to remove pesticides and herbicides with a mixture of liquid sodium bicarbonate, called puripHy.

http://www.phmiracleliving.com/veggie-phlakes.htm
http://www.phmiracleliving.com/phruits.htm

2. Avoid excessive complex and simple carbohydrates. The four worst culprits are sweetened drinks (sodas and fruits drinks), pasta, breads and high sugar fruits like bananas and apples. While acidic sugary desserts are bad, they are never eaten in as high a volume as these four.

Breads and pastas are high on the glycemic or acid index -- a measure of how fast a carbohydrate is broken down into the acid sugar and absorbed into the blood. The faster acidic sugar enters the blood, the greater the secretion of insulin and sodium bicarbonate -- the process that causes us to be hungry. Foods low on the acid index are absorbed more slowly, like avocado, cucumber, broccoli and leafy greens.

Your source of carbohydrates will be low sugar, such as avocado, cucumber, broccoli, celery, parsley, leafy greens, etc. Years ago it was observed that the Asians ate a diet high in carbohydrates, yet they had a low risk of heart attack and stroke. Now we know that's
because they eat only carbohydrates that contain fiber which adsorbs and absorbs dietary acids.

3. Avoid all animal proteins. All meats are acidic and the worst are turkey, ostrich, pork and chicken. Organically raised animals are not any better. Processed meats should never be eaten, since most are heavily dosed with the acid nitrite and injected with exotoxic and mycotoxic additives. A recent study found that eating these meats multiplies the risk for a cancerous pancreas by 62 times.

It is not worth the risk to eat animal protein. Animal protein contains over 350,000 pathological microorganisms per gram and is never completely digested in the gut. The acids from the animal flesh, which includes, nitric acid, uric acid, phosphoric acid and sulphuric acid, the high titers of microorganisms and the congestion it causes in the small and large bowel the best choice is to NEVER eat meat! You don't need it! IF you want to build a strong and healthy body then you need to eliminate meat and start eating and drinking chlorophyll from green plants. This is why I have created the Young pHorever concentrated liquid Chlorophyll. Add just a few drops to each glass of
purified and alkaline water.

Living and Longevity

Living and Longevity
Look at the outside world. Birds animals and many other creature are living their life. Squandering time is not real living.

Real living is where life is full of joy and happiness and associated with taking and giving, caring and sharing , smiling an calming.

We never care about our real happiness of life un the hectic schedule from morning to bed time and after fanciful and trashy ambitious.

To live up to 100 years is our right because that the way God has given us the body and mind at the time of our birth. Look at the children; how innocent and healthy they are. They have no blood pressure, no acidity, no hypertension, and no diabetes.

They do not discriminate between different castes, colors, religions, languages of origins. They do not care about anything. They just live their live happy go lucky, blither and breezy.

We should live the rest of our life as child. But as we grow up, our mind gets tainted; our health is shattered by wrong eating habits and life styles.

Natural Remedies to Get Rid of Ants

Living with ants is as much as a problem as living with killer bees. They are annoying and bothersome and just plain outright nasty. To see their long trail of nonsensical travel is so "Yuk." As the environment goes green and everyone is trying to cut down on electric consumption, plastic water bottles and buying electric cars, does it not make sense to kills ants the "green way."

Sometimes you feel as you just want to leave those little critters alone as they do look helpless, until one of those real nasty red ones comes your way and bites you right on the bottom of your foot. As you limp around for days on end trying to balance, you have an evil thought come into your head about how you can possibly annihilate the whole tribe.

We all can tell you of stories of ants and how they have played an important part in history. The story of King Solomon is unique as he died standing up supported by a wooden cane. He was never known to have died until the ants gnawed away at his cane and he fell. Even ants have a purpose in this life.

As to keep everything sensible and clean, here are some of the best natural remedies.

1. One of the best ways to get rid of ants is to lay talcum powder wherever you see the ants and any place you expect them to show up. It is best to use scented talcum powder. As long as they see the powder, they will disappear. But surely as there will be a sun tomorrow, they will return when they sense there is no talcum powder. So be armed with extra bottles.

2. The second best thing to use is straight vinegar. You can use raw which is better for everything, but I think that ants are not on a health diet. So being raw is more expensive, you may want to go with a generic one. You can use either apple or plain. Just place the vinegar in a squirt bottle and squirt the vinegar everywhere. On the sidewalks, doors and even the kitchen counters.

3. The third way is plain ole cinnamon. Just sprinkle it everywhere. I suggest you put some cinnamon oil in the vinegar bottle. Why not have two shots for the same squirt?

4. The fourth way is black pepper and you can sprinkle it just like the cinnamon, but if you really want to make those pesky creatures angry, mix it with some turmeric powder. Ouch, that burns!

5. There are many suggested sprays from some liquid soap and water to hydrogen peroxide and lemon. They all work, just pick the one that works best for you.

There are more that don't work as well, but why should they be listed here? These are some of the best and they work. As with all pest that invade your home and your lives, doing what is necessary for the safety of your children should be your top priority.

Where are California's Best Honeymoon Destinations?

Guide to California's best honeymoon destinations
The most important trip you will make in your lifetime is the honeymoon. It is the beginning of your life together with your soul mate. You have chosen the correct path when you choose California. California signifies happiness, beauty and everlasting love.

The honeymoon should be so exciting and so beautiful that it will remain with you the rest of your life. There are so many places in the world to begin your life together, but California offers one of the most beautiful destinations possible. From the sunny beaches to the wine tours in Northern California, there is a never ending amount of possibilities here.

As with any vacation, you should be asking yourself what is important to the both of you? Are you looking for the heart shaped bed or are you looking to walk on the beach with sand in your toes? What would make you so happy that your heart will stop beating every time you think of this night. Is it champagne by the fire or is it roasting marshmallows on the beach. Is it touring Hollywood homes or is it going to Neverland to see where Michael Jackson once lived? So many possibilities and so many destinations open to you.

Southern California:

As we begin our trip of honeymoon destinations in Southern California, two places come to mind. There is the very exclusive Laguna Beach and the ever popular Huntington Beach getaways. Both destinations are know as honeymoon destinations and both are so beautiful that you will never want to leave.

Moon lit walks on the beach, dinner for two at a romantic table or a night of dancing to romantic music, Southern California has it all. After your first night together, you can drive on down to San Diego and visit Shamu the whale and laugh your head off at the funny antics of the Sesame Street Characters. You can run to the windows to see the sea lions, as you hold each others hands and dream about your future.

Hollywood Destinations:

No travel agent would ever miss telling a couple about Hollywood. It is the dream destination of many couples, as they think about shopping at Rodeo Drive and going to see the star's name on the sidewalks. Taking a bus tour through the famous neighborhoods of many beautiful star homes or just thinking about how history is being made on this very night.

Hoping to go to a restaurant where Richard Gere ate his lunch or simply bumping into one of many stars out shopping like you. The excitement fills the day with much shopping and eating at some of Hollywood's finest restaurants. No trip

would be complete without going to the beach and sitting out on the patio and watching the waves splash against the shore.

Los Angeles, Hollywood, Brent and even Tarzana, have a lot to offer a couple looking for adventure and excitement. For the couple looking for just some quiet time away from the hustle and bustle, there are many beautiful hotels in Los Angeles by the airport that would cater to every need. Whether it is calling out for ice cream to be delivered to your room or a nice candlelight dinner, Los Angeles has it all.

Malibu and Santa Barbara:

The weddings of the stars all begin in Santa Barbara, home of many famous stars. The large lots and tree lined streets all lend to the perfect get-a-way. If you are looking for a relaxing, country setting then Santa Barbara is the place for you. Santa Barbara is also the home of many wineries and tours are available all year round.

Malibu is a very small place and located on the "Big Sur." It has many beautiful beaches and seafood restaurants everywhere. Malibu is also a home to many stars and it is absolutely beautiful. You can stop on the way and visit the beach for free, after you have some wonderful crab legs and shrimp at one of their local restaurants.

Monterey, Napa Valley and Sanoma:

In the mood for some great wine tasting and viewing? Would you like to run through vineyards and see how the wine is really made? Well then the wine valley is for you. A place of dreams and a place for memories.

San Francisco Destinations:

No honeymoon would be complete without visiting San Francisco. One of the most beautiful places in the United States. It is famous for its Golden Gate Bridge, its antique cable cars and its steep inclining streets. A sight for all to see at least once. It has many types of restaurants and beautiful hotels. Some overlooking the beautiful ocean and some in cozy areas lined with Victorian homes. San Francisco is definitely a great place to start your honeymoon.

As you look at the many places you can start your life with, the decisions are many. As you thing about how best to please each other and choose a place that will make dreams happen, one thought must come to mind. The ultimate honeymoon is where your love will grow and blossom. It is not so much about which restaurant you will eat at, but it is about the two of you becoming intermingled as one. May the flowers fall at your feet and may the Angels smile on you this day and forever.

How to Make Health Cat Treats

Anyone who owns a cat will tell you that they are very picky eaters and trying to get them to go raw and be healthy is next to impossible if you have raised them on cooked foods. Baby, my cat is so picky, but I have to treat her special as her mom, Precious was killed earlier this year and she has a serious nervous condition.

Last week a little blind kitten died and she saw this and she went crazy. The only way I can calm her down is with some of her favorite foods. Now baby is not a traditional cat so she likes to be pampered. Here are some of her favorites:

Kitty Tuna Treats:

Take one can of tuna and some chopped zucchini. Mix well add in a egg and mix again. Now add in enough flour to make the dough the right consistency. Make tiny, tiny balls and place on a greased pan and bake in a preheated 375 degree oven until browned. Hmmm, enjoy.

Liver and Kidney Delight:

This is one of baby's favorites, but remember that the liver is the dumping ground of body toxins so do not give this every day.

2 pounds of livers ( I use chicken)

2 pounds of kidneys

1/2 eggplant or 1 cup of cauliflower or any veggie such as zucchini or cabbage.

salt

Place in a large pan and cook until the veggies and meat is done. Remove from the stove and drain the liquid and put the mixture in a food processor and pulse. After you have the mixture you can use it several ways. Place the leftovers in small freezer bags and bring from the freezer as needed.

1. Place a small amount of the mixture on a plate and spread around like hummus.

2. Place a small amount of the mixture on a plate and spread around and top with some milk and mix. Not to much milk as to make it too liquidity.

3. Scramble some eggs and add this mixture.

Ground veal and veggies:

Baby loves this one too. Basically it is the same recipe as above but the meat and veggies are fried in a pan slightly until the meat is browned. Use this alone or with some eggs.

Baby's favorite meatballs:

1/2 pound of ground meat

Shredded carrots, zucchini and potato

Bread crumbs as needed

1 egg

Katsup

Salt

Make the above mixture in meat balls and place them on a greased baking dish and bake in a preheated 375 degree oven until brown and done. If you like you can put some tomato sauce on top of each meatball.

Baby and I so hope you enjoy some of her favorite dishes. There are many websites that also show you how to make healthy alternatives. As an added note, never give cats onions, chocolates or use pepper on their food.

Caring for Multiple Cats

Caring for multiple cats is like caring for twins or triplets for humans. Each one of them has needs and each on them are different. No two cats are ever the same. Each has their own personality, their likes and dislikes and each one has special needs. It will never cease to be easy, but a task many would love to undertake.

If you are a cat lover as many are including the writer of this article, then one cat is never enough. After you start to raise multiple cats in your home, you will find that they fight at meals, they fight over a special toy and they fight over your attention. The best way to accomplish this task is by doing it separately.

Feeding:

So if you are going to feed cat number one dry food, then you better have dry food for the rest. The trick is to place the food in different locations. Place the dry food two feet apart from each cats feeding space. It is normal for all cats to be territorial. Dry food should only be fed once a day, if at all. Dry food tends to lead to urinary tract infections and should be limited.

If you are going to buy a cat toy, buy three and buy three different kinds. If you are going to feed them their lunch, place it in a very large platter which they will all share or separate bowls. Funny how multiple cats share the same water dish though. Also, to keep your cat's urinary tract in good shape, place a 1/4 teaspoon of raw apple vinegar in their water.

Attention:

Cats are extremely jealous and anytime you spend more time with the one than the other cat, you endanger their feelings. So if you go up to one cat and kiss and caress them, you better do the same for the rest of the group. A cat who is upset will turn his back towards you, to show you their anger.

Cats are very emotional and they can give you a look that will let you know, "You upset me mom." Like changing their way of life, moving to a new home or even changing the kitty litter. Some cats will refuse to use the kitty litter when a lower grade is brought home, than they are use to.

Sleeping Arrangements:

Every cat has a place where they like to sleep. Whether it is on the bed with the owner or on a blanket that feels comfortable to them. When you have multiple cats, make sure that every cat has his special place and never try to put another cat in their place. This is where the saying comes about pampering your cat.

In the end, taking care of multiple cats is not difficult but it does involve some work and care. But anyone who has several cats will tell you that it is well worth the bother. Cats are like people, they want to be loved.

Learning How Pet Awareness Events are Important

Pet awareness should be the topic on everyone's mind today. As helpless creatures are killed weekly for no other crime than over population and not having a home. As the rich become richer, we must help those who cannot be helped. If we cannot a adopt an animal then we can use our money or part of the money and donate to a cause like the International Homeless Animal Candlelight Vigil. It is a cause dear to my heart.

http://www.gratefulness.org/ca ndles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=ISAR

Imagine the man who goes around on the streets, using his net to capture stray animals and using a loop neck line to pull the animals into his truck. If anything I hate more to see, it is the dog kennel trucks roaming the streets looking for "so called," stray animals. I went to a shelter once to get a puppy and the cost was huge for poor person. You had to pay for the shots and to have the animal spayed. I left because I did not have enough money. This should never happen to any animal, or any human as a matter of fact.

When I first came to Jordan, I had no idea that there were organizations here to help the poor. Being I was a cat owner and poor, I was desperate to help my sick animals. So I called the telephone company and they gave me the telephone number for SPANA. SPANA is a non profit organization, from England that helps animals free of charge.

http://www.spana.org/

Some of the things they do is:

- located in 21 of the poorest countries on earth

- help working animals and those who depend on them

- run an adoption agency for all homeless animals indefinitely. There do not kill the animals.

- operate and do spaying and neutering of all animals, free of charge

So when my cat was dying, they helped me save her. She was in the hospital for over 5 days and because I was a widow and had no income, they took care of her free of charge. To this day, 8 years later, they are still caring for my animals. If there were not places like this, who openly take care of all animals, we would be in serious trouble.

There are so many homeless animals in Jordan and the dogs are wild and many are infected with diseases. The government openly kills them and they are helplessly murdered, just because they are dogs. SPANA offers a home and a shelter for these animals. My home is a shelter for many homeless animals. The yard is huge and there are many trees for climbing and we feed them as we can. A place where many would shut them out. People do not realize that they have feelings and they care.

Puppy mills, pet stores and dog fights have got to be the worse places on this earth. Only through education will and can the public have knowledge of these events. As we watch the horrible pit dog fights, where the animals are literally torn apart, as the crowd cheers on. It is enough to break your heart. I adopted a pet from a pet shop and the cat was infected, so badly that she needed over eighty dollars in fees to recover. Stop the violence, stop the sickness and stop the horrors. There creatures are innocent and they need someone who cares.

Adopt a day and events to help the homeless, such as the International Homeless Animal Candlelight Vigil, highlight the plight of these animals. Events all around the world are held, to raise money to spay and neuter the animals. It is a beautiful ceremony and one everyone should participate in. Lighting a candle on line, broke my heart and brought me to tears.

http://www.gratefulness.org/ca ndles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=ISAR

I guarantee you that if you light a candle for an animal, maybe you have lost in the past, you will not have a dry tear in your eyes. It is an emotional and special time. Some of the homeless animals being butchered and placed in shelters, are lost animals that have gone astray. Sometimes, your neighbors are turning the animals in, out of annoyance. Some of the animals in the shelters could be someone's lost pet and it could be mine too.

I am asking you to stand up and be counted. I am asking you to donate what you can and adopt who you can. I am asking you to never let another person harm, maim or kill another innocent animal. My cat Precious was recently murdered or kidnapped and I have no idea where she is. The pain and the horror of that day never leaves me. I hope someone, somewhere would have been kind to her. I hope someone, somewhere would have cared that she was my long lost love. I miss her so very much.

The Day Precious (my cat) Died

It was around noon on Friday, the 10th of July. It was a good day and a religious day. It was a day when God grants all prayers and it was a day when Precious would leave forever. It was a day that I will never forget and a day that I would always regret.

Precious was my best friend, she was my nurse and my doctor. She was my constant companion and someone I loved so very much. She was the sweetest little cat in the whole world and she is gone. She had been sick for a few months with a bad urinary track infection and I was treating her everyday with apple cider vinegar so she could eat and she was ok. But this is not how she died. She died a martyr, I guess. She died alone.

So on that fateful Friday, she motions she wants to go outside so I go over to her and kiss her on the forehead and pet her very gently and I look in her eyes and tell her, "You want to go outside?" She wags her tail and jumps on the window. So I opened the window and swat her on the butt like I always do. I thought to myself, that she wants to go and play and be happy.

Precious was my constant friend and she has demonstrated over and over again how much she loves me. She has been my nurse when I was sick and she sleeps with me in the winter under the covers. Precious just loves the heater. She is fun, caring and yes she does kiss me gently on the lips when she is trying to butter me up for food. She never ever complains and only on occasion turns her back to me.

I remember one day when she was lost and trying to find her way home. The neighbors call me that they had found her, so I run to get her. When I see her, I call out, "Precious." She sees me and runs to me so very fast. She jumps in my lap and kisses me right on the lips. The whole neighborhood clapped for joy. They had never seen a cat who loved her mom so much. Precious was so happy as her mom had saved her. I call Precious and she walks beside me and the both of us go home. Precious became a rock star after that and everyone would always ask, "Where's Precious?" They are asking the same thing today, where's Precious?

I never imagined a day would come when Precious would not be here. I never imagined how cruel people can be but indeed they are very cruel. For indeed she was murdered and so were many other cats on that day.

I called Precious and called her but she did not come home. I searched and searched for her but Precious did not come home. I finally realized that something had happened to her and

I became incredibly sad and incredibly worried. I went to the landlord and told her, someone is trying to kill all of the animals. I felt my inner child screaming this out. She laughed at me and I locked Baby my other cat in the house that night.

The next day Noor and Muhanin were missing and so was Panchie. I had locked baby just in the nick of time but where was Sweetie? Sweetie and Panchie were stray cats that just sat in the yard and we feed from time to time and Noor and Muhanin belonged to the landlord. Someone was killing our entire family. Someone was committing genocide of our most cherished love ones. It was just too horrible to even think about. I was just too horrible to imagine.

The next day I grabbed Sweetie and placed her for adoption in the local shelter. They do not put them asleep here they keep them forever till they get adopted. They have tons of food and water and they are very well taken care of, I hope. She did not even say goodbye to me but gently goes to the other cats and then runs when she sees the food. She was happy, but I was not. So besides the pain of losing our family cats now I had to give away a friend who depended on us all.

As I return to the home, I am in shock. I had to do more and more to find Precious. I looked everyday and walked everywhere and I prayed. Yes, I prayed so much and I cried even more. I implored my lord for mercy and I asked him to rectify the affair. But to my dismay and my horror, she never returned.

I have tried to cope with the loss, but I cannot. I have tried to handle the pain, but I cannot. I want to scream and scream that this is not fair but the words won't come. My soul aches and I can see Angels everywhere and I can see emptiness everywhere. When I look to see her place where she slept, I see emptiness. I see that she was never there and I see yes she has gone on. I want her back, I want her to be in her place and yes I want the people to pay who did this.

My sorrow is so much and my pain is so deep and I am nothing now without her. Deaths come to many as it did to my husband 7 years ago and yes we eventually do accept it was for the best but for now, it is pain.

The hardest part is not knowing how she died and knowing if she suffered. I so want to bury her body and wrap her in a cloth so beautiful. I so want to dig her grave and lie her in it gently, not even wanting to think of her being thrown in some trash dumpster somewhere. I want and hope she did not suffer much and that indeed she was not afraid but that it happened very quickly. I do know that she is better off now as I know Allah is merciful. I know he is all forgiving and I know that his bounty is much more than on earth. So as I part with her on this day, try to think of her as I do with the Angels.

Here is a video and harpist playing Angel Voices. It is the most beautiful video you will ever watch in your life. Make sure you watch it on Internet Explorer as it will only show the music on Foxfire.

You want to know how good it is? (comment of a sushi lover)

"We rarely know what he charged us for or what the price of each item was. All we know is that we are finished with our meal and the bill has arrived - and whatever the cost, our mouths and stomachs are screaming that it was worth it."

Breast Cancer Organizations That Support Minorities

There are many organizations that support minorities, from small yahoo groups to large hospitals. It isn't a matter of finding minority care, it is the fact of finding the best groups, depending on what type of care you have elected to do. Alternative care is a hot topic now and many are switching from normal care to Homeopathic natural treatments.

According to the American Cancer Society, we are searching for a understanding of why cancer develops more often and survival is poor among some US minorities, and we are searching for a way to combat the problem. African Americans are more likely to develop cancer than people of any other racial and ethnic group. African Americans are also about one-third more likely to die of cancer than whites and more than twice as likely to die of cancer as Asian/Pacific Islanders, American Indians, and Hispanics.

One of the most famous minority women, who successfully beat breast cancer, is Robin Roberts of the Today Show. We watched as she had her hair shaved and we watched as she had courage during her operation and then we watched when she came back a survivor. A happy ending indeed.

Robin Roberts said, "I will not play the Cancer card.' I will not use cancer as an excuse for not achieving the goals I have set for myself."

National Minority Cancer Awareness Week was April 19th to the 25th, and during that week it was announced that more minorities will die of cancer than other groups. With the world in the present condition we must look to the statistics that show us that minorities have an increased rate of cancer than whites or Caucasians.

The reasons more minorities die of cancer are the lack of funds, no insurance, language difficulties and the inability to have access to the latest technology. Even with the Internet available, most do not understand that there are alternatives to conventional high-priced therapies.

There are many organizations that specifically help minorities:

1. Mayo Clinic: It is aggressively tackling the minority problem by using You Tube videos. Check out this video:

By informing the world, it is becoming one of the top leaders in care.

The Mayo Clinic has the most comprehensive course of action of any hospital. It has many referral systems to outside support groups and freely helps with education. There are a numerous grants available and they are actively working with minorities.

How to make homemade Oleander Soup for cancer cures

http://www.tbyil.com/tips.htm

Upon interviewing Luella May about the mission of her group, she tells me that they do help one and all minorities. She says that they have had many success stories involving breast cancer patients and that they have had only two people die from their program. Luella May felt that they died because they did not follow the program correctly and waited too late to start the protocol.

Their mission is to inform everyone they can about the abilities of Oleander Soup. As the flower is poisonous, they show the group how to make the famous Oleander Soup. Luella May also told me that many do not know of all the diseases that they have been able to treat and or help from hepatitis C to pancreatic cancer, one of the most difficult cancers.

How is Mono (Mononucleosis) Diagnosed?

Mono is also known as infectious mononucleosis or more commonly referred to as the kissing disease or glandular fever. Mono is caused by the Epstein Barr Virus which is a member of the herpes virus family. The term mononucleosis is an increase in white blood cells (lymphocytes) in the blood stream. It attacks the immune system and weakens the body. Mono is diagnosed by a simple blood test that any laboratory and doctor can order.

The problem is that Mono is very similar to the flu and in most cases it is misdiagnosed for years. Sometimes the patient becomes very sick and repeatedly goes to the doctor, only to be sent home with a diagnosis that they are fine and nothing more than a flu.

Some of the signs of Mono are:

- sore throat

- fever

- swollen glands

- swollen spleen

- malaise

- lack of appetite

- chills

What causes Mono:

As EBV causes Mono, you will see that up to 95 percent of the world population is carrying the virus but only 5 percent actually come down with Mono. Why is this? Because due to some change in the system the body becomes susceptible such as anger or increased sadness. So the person that is carrying the antibodies directed against EBV indicates, that at some point in time in their life they had been infected with the virus.

Normally the immune system has the capability to attack any virus entering the system, but when the EBV is present, it is unable to do this. The antibodies can be seen in the blood of infected people. So your immune system impaired and you are more susceptible to disease now.

What can be done:

1. Get lots of rest. One of the signs of EBV or Mono is insomnia, so your body is extremely tired and weak. Trying to find ways to rest is difficult.

2. You must take vitamins and supplements. Don't let anyone tell you that you must give up vitamins to be healthy. Most Mono patients have malabsorption problems. So many vitamins are necessary to fight off disease.

3. Many Mono patients are on some type of anti depression medicine, as depression is a main problem of the disease. There are many natural medicines such as ginger and black seeds or anise teas.

4. Mono patients need protein of some sort and a basic Mediterranean diet.

Extreme depression is also normal and it is suggested to take some kind of medicine or anti-depressant to help during the beginning of the disease. There are many natural medicines.

The news is that the one thing that can aide EBV is olive leaf. Olive leaf has been proven to aide in the treatment of Mono and EBV. There is still no cure, but certainly there is relief in sight.

Mono and EBV are both "Chronic Fatigue" diseases and the malaise is the worse. After the treatment progresses, your system will return back to normal and it will be as if you were never sick. Even though there is no cure, there is hope for a total new you.

Alzheimer's Symptoms Improve With Games

Researchers at the New England Journal of Medicine and Rush Alzheimer's Disease center conducted some studies of the effect of game playing and its effect on Alzheimer's patients. Dr. Joe Verghese at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine found that playing board games helped in the reduction of dementia.

They found that using the brain to think and the physical activity to play the games increased brain function and aided in warding off Alzheimer's. The study showed that internet computer games were more effective than normal daycare therapy sessions. People who played brain enhancement games had reduced their chances of Alzheimer's by 47 percent.

What is dementia:

Dementia is a debilitating problem with the brain, where a person can not remember, learn, communicate and eventually, can loose the ability to talk. It will become increasingly difficult to take care of their self, also. You might notice slight changes, such as untidiness around the home, mood swings and anger. The person with Alzheimer's or dementia, will not see what is happening and will not be aware that they are any different than before.

Researchers believe that the computer games and programs aimed at increasing your mental activity and mental function, can be helpful in addition to the medications which are being used with the disease. The brain fog is the worst with Alzheimer's and no matter how you try to focus, it is very difficult. Trying to explain to family members, what you are going through is very difficult .

Trying to concentrate enough to remember to turn off the water or remembering when was the last time your prayed, is increasingly difficult. So as the dementia increases, you must look for something to alleviate the stress. Playing games, causes the brain to have interaction and get excited with the thought of winning. It is a process of concentrating on the game and less on me. So, as you sit quietly, playing your games and concentrating, the fog lifts and hopefully feel much better.

List of internet computer games:

1.Shockwave Joker poker. It is fun and relaxing and maybe seeing the cards go very fast, makes my brain work better.

2. Bookworm. is a good brain teaser and increases the mental process. . As the burning tiles come down and I am forced, to come up with a word immediately or lose, I scramble for the most fun.

3. Games like Bubble Shooter and Jewel Deluxe. They are fun and very colorful and very relaxing.

4. A game of solitaire. There is nothing more relaxing than solitaire.

5. There are many educational games on the internet and you should find, what makes you happy and relaxes you. Keeping a brain in a dark room is death. Opening the mind to possibilities creates life.

It has been proven, that one of the best ways to keep the mind occupied is with learning a new language. So if you get bored with playing games, then you can learn a new language. Really anything that causes you to think is good.

There is a new study about Alzheimer's brain enpowerment. It states that the one thing that helps more than most is searching the Internet for research not just normal searching. If one will spend their time, researching a new cure for Alzheimer's, this is a good thing.

There is nothing more scary than losing your ability to think and comprehend. There is nothing more frightening than not being able to talk. All the research in the world, cannot make a person understand what it is like, but anything that increases brain empowerment is a thing we all must do. Games, how fun this medicine is.

Joint Pain Natural Remedies That Work

Due to the fact that you use one or more joints, whenever you move, you will notice the slightest problems with them. So it is not surprising that as we age, we notice more and more stiffness and pain and the inability to move certain joints. The joint is bound together by ligaments which are fibrous bands. Inside the ligaments is a fibrous joint capsule called synovium, that continually produces a tiny bit of fluid to lubricate the joints. When the bone ends meet or in contact the surface is very smooth, and that surface is called articular cartilage.

There are several type of joint problems from cervical osteoarthritis, gout, joint diseases, injuries and arthritis. Each one of them more painful than the next. If anyone of you suffer from any joint pain, I can guarantee you I know what you are going through. In 1997, I was in a major car accident and an accident where I should have died. The medics and police both told me "You should be dead." As I lay on the stretcher going to the emergency room, with my head strapped to the board, I thought death was near.

I had a major crash when I hit 4 parked cars and it was both frightening and numbing. I barely escaped with my life, but the funny thing is, I had no pain. Not the slightest pain or even a pinch. As I lied on the ground, I was talking to a man who helped me and when he gave me a drink of water, I passed out. I had major nerve damage to my neck, but thank goodness I had no broken bones.

After months of therapy, I would go home and discover the full extent of the damage. Damage I would have to deal with the rest of my life. I wore a neck brace for 4 years and still to this day, I have to periodically wear the brace still. I did refuse surgery, as it is not recommended to operate on anyone's neck or back. My insurance was about to run out also, so this is my destiny.

I managed the pain pretty well for years on normal medicines, as I did not know better. When I went to have my gall bladder removed, I found out how bad NSAIDs are. So from that day on, I have not used them again. The doctors told me I had cervical osteoarthritis and by having this condition, I could of died in the operating room. I did survive the operation in good shape.

After I started studying about my condition, I found this natural medicine called Glucosamine Sulfate. It was pretty new at the time and a real miracle. I started using the natural medicine and it helped greatly. It did not provide complete
results and I had to place cold compresses on my neck.

I did learn a few things though:

- don't sleep on your stomach

- sleep only on a hard mattress

- do the alternative hot and cold methods. Hot heat for ten minutes and then cold compresses for ten minutes.

- sleep in the fetal position

I then found my life saver and that was grape seeds. Ground grape seeds alleviated all my pains and including my painful knees. Some days I could not straighten out my knees and they would lock. After starting the Glucosamine Sulfate, my knees cleared up quickly. I did find the best Glucosamine Sulfate was from Quest Vitamins.

http://www.questvitamins.com/

But, when I started the grape seeds many things improved. Grape seeds are good from the top of your head to the bottom of your toes.

The benefits of grape seeds are:

1. improves eye sight

2. your skin has more elasticity

3. improves circulation

4. aides in colon and stomach problems

5. eliminates painful disc problems

The list goes on and on, but these are some of the things it improves. The best way I found to use grape seed was to buy it whole and ground them. I place them in vegetarian capsules and I take 2 a day. After taking grape seeds for ten days, I could start slacking off the Glucosamine Sulfate and now today, I take only grape seeds. Whole grape seeds are very hard to find but here is a link to a site I recommend:

http://www.mackinlay.com/GRAPE SEEDS.htm

Any joint pain is very painful and it is the one thing that sends many people to the emergency room. Natural medicines are the only way to have lasting and complete relief.
